Hypoglycemia – Its Causes And Ways To Overcome The Condition
Hypoglycemia
When sugar intake is high, it often results in hypoglycemia, a condition that leads the pancreas to produce too much insulin in response to that high sugar intake. Excess amount of insulin in our body lowers blood sugar drastically and causes symptoms like depression, fatigue, nausea and headaches. Two causes of excess insulin production are stress factors and poor diet with lots of sugar and refined foods. Pancreas was created by nature when refined and processed foods and sugary foods did not exist. The current dietary practices put a lot of pressure on the pancreas and adrenal glands to maintain sugar level in the blood. Hypoglycemia is also aggravated by stimulants like coffee and alcohol, and drinking alcohol and caffeine on an empty stomach, fad dieting, kidney and liver problems, having very large meals and food allergies.
Factors Contributing to Hypoglycemia
Hypoglycemia is a condition that develops if we eat too much sugar and simple carbohydrates like which are present in cakes, pies pastries, cookies and candies. Stress further aggravates this condition. Eventually, it may lead to Type II Diabetes.

• A diet which has good sources of plant fiber can really help with hypoglycemia. Foods like legumes and beans, bran, nuts, oats, seeds, fruits and vegetables should be included in the diet.
• Sources of good protein found in legumes and sea food should be added in the diet an poultry should be reduced. Moreover, healthy fats like olive oil and flaxseed oil also help with hypoglycemia.
Modifying Lifestyle and Habits
There are various lifestyle habits that we should incorporate in our lives to avoid hypoglycemia. One such habit is to employ an exercise program and elevate our heart rate at least 60% for a minimum of 90 minutes per week. For those who smoke, they should try to cut down smoking and avoid second hand smoking. Alcohol should be avoided as well as it weakens the liver. Six to eight meals every day can help stabilize sugar levels in the blood than having two to three large meals in the day.
Supplements for Hypoglycemia
Protein shakes for snack and breakfast can help in stabilizing blood sugar level, and feed the adrenal glands. Vitamin C, 2,000-3,000 mg daily can help the adrenal glands to function optimally. Other supplements like adrenal glandular extract, 200-600 mg per day can help strengthen adrenal glands. Vitamin B complex, 100 mg daily, helps as well since sugar and refined foods leach this vitamin from our body. Minerals like chromium, zinc, selenium and magnesium are also very important for the body to avoid hypoglycemia and maintain blood sugar levels. Glutamine, 500 mg daily, Pancreatin, 1,200 mg with meals and royal jelly are also very helpful for avoiding hypoglycemia.
Importance of Water
Water is life. For all things living, water acts as a fuel. Since normal bottled water is no longer, thanks to the impurity content allowed in it by the FDA, Alkaline Ionized Water should be consumed. This hydrates the body very quickly, it is highly permeable allowing our cells to absorb nutrients easily. It is also a powerful natural anti oxidant and brings clarity and alertness to our minds. The alkaline nature of alkaline ionized water ensures that excess acidity is kept at bay, which in most cases is the root cause of disease. Water ionizers are easily available in the market, however care should taken while selecting one that is just right for you.
